Kobicha Panhola - Cabbage Pie as seen on "Amhi Saare Khavayye"


Recently I happened watch some recorded episode of the marathi cookery show "Amhi Saare Khavayye" on Youtube. This recipe of Cabbage seemed to perfectly fit my needs for the hour. I had all the required ingredients at home and I was hungry and this recipe was easy enough and also something I could feed the little one with pride :)

Here goes the preparation :
Ingredients :
Chopped cabbage
Chopped onion
Shredded coconut (fresh)
Besan(Chickpea flour)(3 tale spoons)
Oil
Cumin powder
Salt/Sugar
Ginger-green chilli paste.
Soda


Well these are the basic ingredients and you can customize it to your taste :)
Take some chopped cabbage in a bowl. Add chopped onion and shredded coconut. Add salt and sugar to taste. Add the ginger chilli paste. Now add besan and mix it well. We do not need to make a paste just add a little water to mix it well and not to leave any besan powder looking dry. Add 1 tsp of Soda(ENO is fine too) and mix evenly. Apply some oil to the base of the pressure cooker. Remove the whistle and cook for 15-20 mins. Take it out in a flat dish and cut it like a cake. Serve with your favourite pickles/chutneys/ketchup.
